Coordination for Kids (Ages 6-14)

Coordination does not always come easily for many kids. Whether it's hand to eye or physical coordination, there are methods that can be incorporated into their everyday lives that will help. Developing coordination requires consistency and some discipline.

Unfortunately, poor coordination oftentimes leads to a lack of self-confidence. Kids can quickly get frustrated and embarrassed because they see others doing things easily that they struggle so hard to accomplish. This cycle can be a tough one to deal with for any kid.

Volt Fitness has developed an exciting and FUN program led by experienced physical therapists to help kids and teens (ages 6-13) improve motor skills and overall coordination. This will help your child to feel more empowered and confident amongst their peers when they are engaging in physical activities on a field, court or in gym class.

The goal of the program is to improve age-appropriate motor skills. Below are some of the many areas that are covered:

  • Jumping
  • Catching and throwing
  • Kicking
  • Balance and riding a bike
  • Climbing
  • Proper running technique
  • Doing push-ups
  • Hand-to-eye coordination
  • Multi-task activities

The Coordination Program takes place in the Volt Fitness facility, where your child will be having fun while accomplishing his/her therapeutic goals. Parents will receive consistent progress reports to track improvement.


NEW!

COORDINATION FOR TOTS (AGES 3-6)

Volt Fitness (with NeuroFit) is now offering a exciting program for children ages 3-6 who need help with sensory and/or coordination issues. The program is run in a small group format by our pediatric occupational therapist (OT).

The class is designed to immerse the child in effective therapy while engaging in a fun, comfortable environment.

Our OT will help children improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills while enhancing their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.

Program Goals:

  • Help your child reach age-appropriate milestones
  • Help kids with developmental delays learn basic tasks
  • Improve fine motor skills
  • Improve focus and social skills for kids who have sensory and attention issues
  • Work on hand-to-eye coordination to improve kids’ play and school skills (hitting a target, batting a ball, copying from a blackboard, etc.)

In addition to dealing with a child’s physical well-being, our OT will address psychological, social, and environmental factors that can affect functioning in positive ways.

Class will last 45 minutes.

 

Coordination Program Schedule

The program runs on a continual basis allowing your child to join the group at any time, and it is covered by participating health benefit plans. Our current Coordination program schedule is as follows:

Coordination for Kids:
Tuesdays - 5:00-6:00pm
Thursdays - 5:00 -6:00pm
Saturdays - 10:00-11:00am

Coordination for Tots:
Saturdays - 9:15-10:00am

First, complete and return the PreQualification form (you may return it by email joseph@voltfitnessusa.com or by fax - 201-857-8502.)

We will contact you to answer any questions you may have and to schedule a complimentary  class so you and your child can give us a try.

Following your complimentary class, we will submit the necessary information to your insurance company and follow up with you to go over your coverage.

Your child's Initial Evaluation will be conducted during the first class, followed by periodic re-evaluations to chart progress.
